Our Vision

WHY

BLANK CANVAS IS A CHRISTIAN CHARITY THAT EXISTS FOR ALL YOUNG PEOPLE

WE WANT TO CREATE STORIES OF HOPE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN REDCAR AND BEYOND

HOW

GIVING EVERY YOUNG PERSON IN REDCAR THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW THE HOPE OF JESUS

JOURNEYING ALONGSIDE YOUNG PEOPLE IN ORDER TO RESPOND TO THE BARRIERS WHICH PREVENT THEM FROM FLOURISHING

WHAT

SAFE SPACES: For young people to hang out and build healthy relationships with each other and trusted adults. Anyone is welcome, we prioritise connection and make sure FUN is a top priority.

ADVOCACY: We hear the stories of young people each week and for those that need further support, we work with the young person, their parents or carers and school to journey all together.

LOCAL CHURCH: We asked young people in Redcar how they viewed the church, over 40% said it was a safe space and 25% said it was somewhere they would go to for help.

INNOVATE: We do not sit still, we listen to our young people and families, discern the barriers, and look to galvanise the local church and funders to support us to overcome the barriers.

We believe that Christians can and should be promoting positive change in their communities and wanting the best for EVERY young person in Redcar, regardless of whether they have a faith or not.

We work closely with the Churches in Redcar, and have gathered and continue to gather an amazing team of volunteers from a variety of different backgrounds who are passionate about supporting young people and share our vision!

We seek to identify the barriers that any young people are facing locally everyday, and to journey with, equip and support young people to overcome them! We’re proud to be youth-focused and youth-led, seeking first to listen to and understand young people, then to act, champion and advocate for them.
