A Week of Mission

In March we spent the week with a mission team from Green Acres Baptist Church from Tyler, Texas

The week was full of sports, conversations, a retreat day for 150 young people in Sacred Heart Secondary School and concluded with a celebration at Planet Kidz, the local soft play!

With over 60 young people joining us for a night of climbing, sliding, jumping and bouncing, we ate together and shared the good news of Jesus with all those gathered.

As we have deepened our relationships with local secondary schools, we have a weekly presence in Sacred Heart school, spending time in the schools chapel to offer a space on a lunch for young people to explore faith and both Sacred Heart and Outwood Redcar have referred young people for our Compass Programme (see below).

We were struck as one of the mission team explained when using the word 'church' when asked to use one word to sum up their week in England, that he was deeply encouraged that through Blank Canvas we are seeing the whole church across denominations step up to share the hope of Jesus in Redcar and this was something they would hold onto.
